If you already have a CCS RealVNC account and have installed VNC Viewer, click the link under  VNC Machine Availability <\/strong>to see which machines are available for use.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, open the VNC Viewer app on your computer and connect to an available VNC machine. If you are just getting started, skip to the Getting Started <\/strong>section. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting Started <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To set up a RealVNC account for remote access to CCS VNC machines, you need to: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(1) <\/strong>Send an email from your CCS email account to helpdesk@collegeforcreativestudies.edu <\/strong>requesting VNC access.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(2) <\/strong>You\u2019ll eventually receive a RealVNC invitation email. Open the email and click Join Team. <\/strong>Your browser will open up your online RealVNC profile page.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note: You\u2019ll be prompted to download and install the VNC Viewer app (continued in the Download  VNC Viewer <\/strong>section). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(3) <\/strong>In your online RealVNC profile in the browser, click the Security <\/strong>–> Change password <\/strong>to set  and confirm a password, if one is not set. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Download VNC Viewer <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

https:\/\/www.realvnc.com\/en\/connect\/download\/viewer\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choose the operating system of your personal machine, then click Download VNC Viewer <\/strong>to install  VNC Viewer on your personal machine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the installer package has been downloaded to your machine, open it and begin the installation  process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the application has completed installation, launch the VNC Viewer <\/strong>application. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Signing In to the VNC Viewer <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Click Sign In <\/strong>at the top-right corner of VNC Viewer. Enter your full CCS email address and  password, then click the Sign In <\/strong>button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After signing in, click the College for Creative Studies <\/strong>category along the left column. There will be  a list of VNC computers that you can remotely connect to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Locating An Available Machine <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The section VNC Machine Availability <\/strong>at the top of this webpage allows you to browse the VNC  Machine list and find a machine that is not in use. Click the link to go to the page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Return to the VNC Viewer <\/strong>application  and double-click on the machine you  want to connect to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter the password vncstudent <\/strong>and  click OK<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will now see the login screen of  the machine you are controlling.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From here, you must log in using your  CCS username and password. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You must access the machine as if  you were in a lab using your CCS  username and password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you are done with your session, make sure that you FIRST  log out of the computer as you normally would<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the Windows button at the bottom-left and select Sign out<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

IMPORTANT: DO NOT SHUT DOWN THE MACHINE WHEN YOU  ARE DONE. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you\u2019ve logged out of the remote  computer, open the VNC drop-down menu  by moving the mouse near the top-middle  of your VNC Viewer window. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Close your remote session by clicking the X <\/strong>in the upper area of the viewer window. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tips For Better Performance <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For better performance, you can adjust the  resolution or the scaling in the VNC drop  down menu.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the gear icon to access these settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you experience slowness, try lowering the Picture Quality. Click the Options <\/strong>tab –> Picture  Quality <\/strong>and select a lower setting.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
