{"id":66,"date":"2019-06-24T18:39:00","date_gmt":"2019-06-24T18:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/campus.collegeforcreativestudies.edu\/its\/?page_id=66"},"modified":"2021-10-28T17:43:22","modified_gmt":"2021-10-28T17:43:22","slug":"cisco-7965-ip-phone-quick-reference","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/campus.collegeforcreativestudies.edu\/its\/cisco-7965-ip-phone-quick-reference\/","title":{"rendered":"Cisco 7965 IP Phone Quick Reference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To Place a Call<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Emergency<\/strong><br> \u2022 Lift Handset and Dial 6+911 or 911<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Internal<\/strong><br>  \u2022 Lift Handset, press the <strong>Speaker <\/strong>button, line button or the <strong>New Call<\/strong> softkey<br> \u2022 Dial 4-digit Extension ( 4XXX)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>External<\/strong><br> \u2022 Lift Handset, press the <strong>Speaker<\/strong> button, line button or the <strong>New Call<\/strong> softkey<br> \u2022 Local &#8211; Dial 6 + Number<br> \u2022 Long Distance &#8211; Dial 6 + 1 + 10-Digit Number<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Answer a Second Call<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You will hear a call waiting beep indicating you have another call.<\/li><li>Press the <strong>Answer <\/strong>softkey to put the first call on hold and answer the second call. Note: To switch between calls select the desired call and then press the <strong>Resume<\/strong> softkey.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Place a Call on Hold<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>During a call, press the <strong>Hold<\/strong> softkey.<\/li><li>To return to the held call, press the <strong>Resume<\/strong> softkey.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Supervised Transfer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>With a call in progress, press the <strong>Trnsfer<\/strong> softkey. The current caller is placed on hold.<\/li><li>Dial the number\/extension to which you want to transfer the call and announce the call.<br> a. If  yes, Press the <strong>Trnsfer<\/strong> softkey.<br> b. If no, press the <strong>EndCall<\/strong> softkey.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Blind Transfer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>With a call in progress, press the <strong>Trnsfer<\/strong> softkey. The current caller is placed on hold.<\/li><li>Dial the number\/extension to which you want to transfer the call.<\/li><li>When you hear ringing, press the <strong>Trnsfer<\/strong> softkey again.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transfer to VM<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>With a call in progress, press the <strong>Trnsfer<\/strong> softkey. The current caller is placed on hold.<\/li><li>Dial &#8216;*&#8217; followed by extension to which you want to transfer the call.<\/li><li>Then <strong><em>QUICKLY<\/em><\/strong> press the <strong>Trnsfer<\/strong> softkey again.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Place a Conference Call<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>With a call in progress, press the <strong>Confrn<\/strong> softkey.<\/li><li>Dial the number\/extension of the third party you wish to add to the call.<\/li><li>When the third party answers, press the <strong>Confrn<\/strong> softkey again to add this party to the conference.<\/li><li>Repeat steps 1 &#8211; 3 to add more callers.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Forward All Calls<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Press the <strong>CFwdAII<\/strong> softkey.<\/li><li>Enter the number to which you want to forward all of your calls. Be sure to enter the number exactly as you would if you were<br> placing a call to that number from your office phone.<\/li><li>To remove call forwarding, press the <strong>CFwdAII<\/strong><br> softkey.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Redial the Last Number Dialed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lift the handset and press the <strong>Redial<\/strong> softkey, or simply press <strong>Redial<\/strong> softkey to activate the speakerphone.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">View Missed, Received, and Placed Calls<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Press the <strong>Directories<\/strong> button.<\/li><li>Press the <strong>Select<\/strong> softkey to select Missed Calls from the menu. The call history for missed calls is displayed on the screen.<\/li><li>If desired, press the <strong>Dial<\/strong> softkey to dial the selected number from this list. It is necessary to use the <strong>EditDial<\/strong> softkey to append a &#8220;6&#8221; to<br> the front of off-campus numbers.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Check Voicemail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Press the <strong>Messages<\/strong> button.<\/li><li>Follow the voice prompts to login to your voicemail box.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Check Voicemail from outside<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Dial your full number (Example: 313-xxx-xxxx)<\/li><li>Press &#8216;*&#8217; when you hear the greeting<br> a.
