Graduate Assistantship (GA) positions are available to all registered graduate students at the College forCreative Studies with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA).
There are three types of GA positions: Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA), Graduate Research Assistant (GRA), and Graduate Student Assistant (GSA).

Grad Trasportation Design: Teaching Resources Assistant – Graduate Research Assistant (GRA)

Summary of Purpose – Graduate Research Assistant (GRA)
The position of Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) is to provide support and assistance for faculty and instructors in scholarly research. The role is also an opportunity for graduate students to extend their academic knowledge and acquire new skills. Graduate Research Assistants (GRAs) will be assigned to a specific CCS faculty/research project.
General Responsibilities – Graduate Research Assistant (GRA)
- The GRA reports directly to his/her/their supervisor.
- The GRA is expected to be prepared for his/her/their duties/job functions.
- The GRA must understand the research objectives
- The GRA should make him/her/them self aware of the researchers methods and conceptual frameworks
- Additionally, the GRA performs other duties as necessary.
Position Specific Responsibilities – Graduate Research Assistant (GRA)
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, this position requires the items listed below.
Creation of Grad Transportation Design teaching aids
Development of demonstration assets for Grad Transportation Design studio courses
Fulfillment of other course and research related tasks as assigned and appropriate
May act as a teachig assistant for an instructor in a graduate level course, where appropriate
May also be asked to support Social meida content
Requirements – Graduate Research Assistant (GRA)
- Completion of FERPA 101: Colleges & Universities Training within 1 month after starting position.
- The GRA must have successfully completed the CITI training prior to beginning the position.
- A knowledge base of the research methods and theory.
- A substantial understanding of the research subject.
- Be familiar with Modern Language Association (MLA) and/or APA documentation style.
- A possession of exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- An ability to multitask, work to meet course deadlines, and be adaptable to change.
- A willingness to follow instructions and work in a supporting role.
- A demonstration of respect and cooperation with the research supervisor.
- A compassionate and positive attitude.
