The Notification Settings<\/strong> screen allows you to configure your personal notifications about specific actions that happen within Canvas. You can configure notifications for your overall Canvas account and for individual courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NOTE:<\/strong> Notification settings are configured by the individual user. Instructors cannot configure personal notification settings for students…nor can students configure personal notification settings for instructors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. In Global Navigation, click the Account<\/strong> link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Select Notifications<\/strong>, and take note of the blue outlined information boxes at the top of the screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Near the top of the Notifications<\/strong> screen, use the Settings for<\/strong> drop-down list to select whether you would like to configure notification settings for your overall Canvas account or for a specific course.\n

    • Account-level notifications apply to all courses. Notifications for individual courses can be changed within each course and will override these notifications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Course-level notifications are inherited from your account-level notification settings. Adjusting notifications for this course will override notifications at the account level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • In the Email<\/strong> column, click the icon for a given row to select how you want to be notified about a specific item. Your options are: Notify immediately<\/strong>, Daily summary<\/strong>, Weekly Summary<\/strong>, or Notifications off<\/strong>.\n

      • If you had added additional e-mail addresses under the Ways to Contact<\/strong> section of your personal Settings<\/strong> screen, you will have additional Email<\/strong> columns to configure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • In the Push Notifications<\/strong> column, click the icon for a given row to select how you want to be notified about a specific item. Your options are: Notify immediately<\/strong> or Notifications off<\/strong>.\n

        • Not all notifications are available for Push Notifications<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          All changes are saved automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
