For example, you might have a Google sheet that contains a table template you&#8217;ve created. You want your students to fill out specific areas of the Google sheet and submit it back to you for grading. This is possible with the Google Assignments LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) 1.3 external tool that CCS has integrated with Canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you select a file for your students to edit, a <strong>copy<\/strong> of your file is saved to a student&#8217;s own Google Drive. Your own version of this file is never modified within your Google Drive. Either:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click the <strong>Attach<\/strong> button to select a file from <strong>Recent<\/strong>, <strong>My Drive<\/strong>, <strong>Shared drives<\/strong>, or <strong>Upload<\/strong>.  Click the <strong>Add<\/strong> button to add the file to your Canvas assignment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Create<\/strong> button to create a <strong>New Doc<\/strong>, <strong>New Sheet<\/strong>, <strong>New Slide<\/strong>, or <strong>New Drawing<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select how you want to grade the assignment:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Google Assignments<\/strong> &#8211; uses the Google interface to grade<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Canvas SpeedGrader<\/strong> &#8211; uses the Canvas interface to grade<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Create<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Back in the Canvas interface, you&#8217;ll be returned to the <strong>Configure External Tool<\/strong> window.
