Simple Syllabus contains all the elements you need to create your course syllabus that your students can view within your Canvas course. Faculty update their Simple Syllabus document, and then it is approved by the Chair\/Program Manager of the associated department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"#accessing-and-editing-your-simple-syllabus-in-canvas\">Accessing and Editing Your Simple Syllabus in Canvas<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#submit-button-is-grayed-out\">Submit Button is Grayed Out<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#additional-resources\">Additional Resources<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"accessing-and-editing-your-simple-syllabus-in-canvas\">Accessing and Editing Your Simple Syllabus in Canvas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To access your Simple Syllabus document within your Canvas course, in Course Navigation, click the <strong>Simple Syllabus<\/strong> link.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The location of this link may vary from course to course depending on how you&#8217;ve organized your course navigation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When you first view your syllabus, content is automatically copied from the  previous semester\u2014provided you have access to both courses in Canvas. Instructions appear in gray boxes with a purple vertical bar (shown below). Use this space to provide further details on what you edited within your Simple Syllabus document.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you have made edits to your Simple Syllabus document, click the <strong>Submit<\/strong> button at the bottom of the screen to submit changes for approval from your Chair\/Program Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"submit-button-is-grayed-out\">Submit Button is Grayed Out<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If the <strong>Submit<\/strong> button is grayed out and you cannot submit your Simple Syllabus document, this means required information is missing from your Simple Syllabus document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on the \u2757 <strong>exclamation point<\/strong> icon. A <strong>Warning<\/strong> message will appear on the bottom right corner of your screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the link(s) within the the <strong>Warning<\/strong> message.
