The first tool is included out-of-the-box from Instructure called <strong>Edit Assignment Dates<\/strong>. The second tool is a third-party extension integrated with Canvas called the <strong>Due Date Modifier<\/strong> designed by Cidi Labs. No matter which tool you choose, bulk updating offers a quicker way to edit your assignment details rather than changing assignment settings one by one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"#edit-assignment-dates\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#edit-assignment-dates\">Edit Assignment Dates<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#using-cidi-labs-multitool\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#using-cidi-labs-multitool\">Using the Cidi Labs MultiTool<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#additional-resources\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#additional-resources\">Additional Resources<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"edit-assignment-dates\">Edit Assignment Dates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use the native <strong>Edit Assignment Dates<\/strong> screen in Canvas to bulk edit your assignment due dates and availability dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Course Navigation, click the <strong>Assignments<\/strong> link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the top right-hand corner of the screen, click on click the <strong>Options<\/strong> (three vertical dots) icon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Edit Assignment Dates<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the <strong>Edit Assignment Dates<\/strong> screen, add\/edit any due dates and availability dates for your assignments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Save<\/strong> button to confirm your changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also batch edit dates on this screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Place a checkmark next to any or all assignments that you want to batch edit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Batch Edit<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chose either to:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Shift Dates:<\/strong> Shift due dates and assignment availability dates forward by a number of days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Remove Dates:<\/strong> Remove due dates and assignment availability dates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"using-cidi-labs-multitool\">Using the Cidi Labs MultiTool<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The MultiTool is an external tool that CCS purchased as part of the DesignPLUS product from Cidi Labs. If you do not see the <strong>MultiTool<\/strong> course navigation menu displayed in your Canvas course, follow the directions in <a href=\"https:\/\/campus.collegeforcreativestudies.edu\/ed-tech\/configuring-course-navigation\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"448\">Configuring Course Navigation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students will never see the <strong>MultiTool<\/strong> link in your course, even if you&#8217;ve enabled it in your course navigation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have enabled the <strong>MultiTool<\/strong> in your Canvas course navigation menu:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Course Navigation, click the <strong>MultiTool<\/strong> link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the MultiTool screen, click on either the <strong>Due Date Modifier<\/strong> icon or the <strong>Due Date Modifier<\/strong> description.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"667\" src=\"http:\/\/campus.collegeforcreativestudies.edu\/ed-tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/53\/2024\/11\/MultiTool_DueDateModifier-1024x667.png\" alt=\"A screenshot of the Cidi Labs Course MultiTool interface within the Canvas LMS. To remedy this, click on the <strong>Module Builder<\/strong> icon at the top of the screen. Then, click on the <strong>Due Date Modifier<\/strong> icon to return to that screen. For example, you could blackout holidays, times when you have vacation plans, etc. You will not be able to select these dates when editing assignment due dates and availability dates via the <strong>Due Date Modifier<\/strong> screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Within the <strong>Due Date Modifier<\/strong> screen, click on the <strong>Set Blackout Dates<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add specific dates and\/or use the checkboxes to select specific days of the week you wish to blackout.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Set Default Times<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar to blackout dates, you can set a default <strong>Due Time<\/strong>, an <strong>Available Time<\/strong>, a <strong>Lock Time<\/strong>, a <strong>Show Answers Time<\/strong>, and a <strong>Hide Answers Time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Within the <strong>Due Date Modifier<\/strong> screen, click on the <strong>Set Default Times<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add\/Edit the times as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bulk Updates<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Bulk Updates<\/strong> portion of the <strong>Due Date Modifier<\/strong> allows you to bulk update multiple assignment details at one time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Within the <strong>Assignment Data<\/strong> section where your assignments are listed, place a  \u2705 checkmark next to each assignment name that you wish to bulk update.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assignment names will begin to appear in a box in the <strong>Bulk Updates<\/strong> area of the <strong>Due Date Modifier<\/strong>. For example, a \u2705 checkmark was placed next to the &#8220;Weekend Assignment&#8221; assignment (A).
