To access Canvas, login through the <a href=\"https:\/\/access.ccsdetroit.edu\">CCS Access manager<\/a> and select Canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once in Canvas you will have access to a <strong>departmental course<\/strong> that contains helpful departmental-specific information. You will also be enrolled in the <strong>New Faculty Orientation<\/strong>, which contains a lot of helpful institutional information along with a wealth of Canvas-specific resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information on Canvas training and resources for new faculty, refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/campus.collegeforcreativestudies.edu\/ed-tech\/training-resources\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/campus.collegeforcreativestudies.edu\/ed-tech\/training-resources\/\">Training and Resources page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Checklist for In-Person Canvas Courses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairs and faculty can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1z8nysYF9HzBawwseJ-ZHus5GgM3Rjr_O9rJOuTcFKec\/edit?usp=drive_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">In-Person Canvas Course Checklist<\/a> to walk through and verify the basics of setting up an in-person course in Canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rubric for Online Canvas Courses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairs and faculty can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1h_1RqVrR9HRCpgMdPD_x2lKt43pBCdT7mCDfYlbxTMY\/edit?usp=sharing\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1h_1RqVrR9HRCpgMdPD_x2lKt43pBCdT7mCDfYlbxTMY\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Online Course Rubric<\/a> to walk through and verify the basics of setting up an online course in Canvas. They can also request the ET+I team review online courses utilizing this rubric. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Canvas Minimum Usage Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is expected that all faculty utilize the college\u2019s Learning Management System (Canvas.) It is important that courses provide a level of consistency for our students regardless of learning modality. These methods are adaptable to each course type and determine how students interact with the material, instructors, and peers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>In-Person (IP)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the in-person course format, all faculty must utilize the Learning Management System (Canvas) to record attendance, record and post grades, post relevant class materials (lecture\/discussion recaps, reminders, announcements, etc.) throughout the semester. Additionally, course modules should contain an overview of each topic in advance in order to give students a better understanding of what to expect during that session.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Hybrid (HYB)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the Hybrid course format, all faculty must utilize the Learning Management System (Canvas) to record attendance, record and post grades, post relevant class materials (lecture\/discussion recaps, reminders, announcements, etc.) throughout the semester. Additionally, course modules must contain asynchronous course content to account for appropriate contact hours for each week. Each module must contain Title, Overview, Objectives, Assessments, Activities, Resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Online Hybrid (ONHY)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the Online Hybrid course format, all faculty must utilize the Learning Management System (Canvas) to record attendance, record and post grades, post relevant class materials (lecture\/discussion recaps, reminders, announcements, etc.) throughout the semester. Additionally, course modules must contain asynchronous course content to account for appropriate contact hours for each week.
