,NATURAL SCIENCE ILLUSTRATION ,<\/B>,
,In this introductory course, students will focus,on mastering technical art skills and increasing,their understanding of science, vocabulary, and,the anatomy of plants, animals, minerals, and,other natural bodies. Students will learn the,basics in a range of visual techniques to,communicate science in education, research, public,relations, and marketing. Students will be,expected to keep a field journal and practice,observational drawing skills throughout the,semester. The class will have a heavy emphasis on,verbal presentation and the ability to understand,and communicate topics in life and earth science.,With the guidance of their instructor, students,will begin to develop an understanding of their,preferred mediums and the professional,illustrator’s workflow process as it pertains to,this field.<\/p>
