This course surveys the historical and,nonhistorical innovations that have taken place,in graphic design from 1850 to the present.,Students discuss the impact of various,technologies and their influence on the resulting,forms and functions of the objects\/images,presented. The social and political climate of,past cultures and their contextual relationship,with design are considered. Thus, students come,to understand design as visual communication that,speaks of its time and place. This course,satisfies the General Elective requirement.<\/p>
