In this course, with the assistance of the,instructor, students create artist statements, and,conceive of a body of work to start exploring in,Illustration Studio A. The work (or portfolio),created in this course establishes the artist’s,point of entry into their chosen market(s) or path,within the illustration industry. The students’,artist statements will demonstrate a knowledge of,current industry practice, and students are,encouraged and guided to explore how their chosen,direction relates to race, gender, sexual,orientation\/Identity, community development,,disability\/differently-abled, climate,change\/justice\/sustainability, global cultures,,and economic class.<\/p>
